Hatfield House
Hatfield House is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Hatfield, Hertfordshire.

Hatfield House was built by Robert Cecil, Ist Earl of Salisbury and Chief Minister
to King James I from 1607 to 1611. Hatfield House has a collection of pictures and
historic armour on display. The Hatfield Estate has been in the Cecil family for
over 400 years. The Royal Palace of Hatfield was where Elizabethan history began
as this is where Elizabeth I spent most of her childhood. An oak tree marks the
place where the young Princess Elizabeth first heard of her accession to the throne.
