IOM TT Dates
The centenary year of TT racing on the Mountain Course will be celebrated with a
two-day event called 'Milestones of the Mountain,' in 2011. The celebrations are
planned for the 9 and 10 June 2011. The 2 day mini festival will continue at the
TT Grandstand in Douglas during an event called the Day of Champions.
Manx National Heritage will also hold a Centenary exhibition at the House of Manannan,
in Peel.
The 9 mile Mountain section from Ramsey to the Creg ny Baa was first introduced
in 1911, 4 years after the first TT race on the Isle of Man.

- Freddie Dixon, 1923 First Sidecar TT Race Winner
- Jimmie Simpson - first TT rider to lap at 60mph, 70mph and 80mph
- Freddie Frith - first TT rider to lap at 90mph
- Bob McIntyre - first TT rider to lap at 100mph
- Rose Hanks - first lady to stand on the TT podium in 1968
- Mike Hailwood - 14 times TT winner, 10 times World Champion
- John Williams - first TT rider to lap at 110mph
- Joey Dunlop - 26 TT wins
- Steve Hislop - first TT rider to lap at 120mph
- John McGuinness - first TT rider to lap at 130mph
- Ian Hutchinson - only rider have 5 TT wins in one week
